As long as you have the group's link, you can easily join it on WhatsApp. This wikiHow article shows you how to join a public WhatsApp group without an invitation with a few third-party apps and websites.

If you're using an iOS device, open the App Store and install "Groups for WhatsApp".
There aren't a lot of options, if any, on the Google Play Store.
